Conservative Party Road Closures

The Conservative Party Conference begins at Manchester Central on Monday 5th October until Thursday 8th October. To accommodate the event there will be a limited number of road closures in the area around the venue. From 7pm today (Tuesday 29 September), Lower Mosley Street and Mount Street, including part of Windmill Street will be closed, although there will be access to Manchester Central NCP underground car park.

On Wednesday 30th September, Museum Street and Southmill Street between Windmill Street and Peter Street will be closed from 8pm.

From 6pm on Thursday 1st October, Dickenson Street access onto St Peter’s Square will be closed and from 1am on Friday 2 October, Peter Street and Oxford Street, between Southmill Street and Portland Street, including Lower Mosley Street, St Peter’s Square and adjacent side roads, will be closed.

The secure area around Manchester Central and the Midland Hotel comes into force from mid-day on Sunday 4 October until 4pm on Thursday 8 October.

The roads will all be re-opened on Friday 8 October. From 4am Peter Street, Oxford Street, Museum Street, Southmill Street and Dickinson Street will re-open and from 8pm Lower Mosley Street and Mount Street including Windmill Street will be open again.
